Privacy Policy
UBGHyper is built to be played without signing up or handing over personal data. This page explains exactly what is — and isn't — collected when you use the site.
Last updated: 7 October 2026
The short version
- No accounts, no sign-ups, and no login — there's nothing to register.
- Your favourites, saves, and playtime stats are stored only in your own browser (localStorage). We never receive them.
- We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which games are popular, and we run ads to keep the site free.
- You can wipe everything at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
What stays on your device
UBGHyper stores several things locally in your browser using localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is never sent to us:
- Favourites — the games you've hearted.
- Game saves & progress — in-game data for titles like Bitlife, Retro Bowl, and Cookie Clicker. You can export and import this yourself on the Saves page.
- Playtime stats — how long you've played each game, shown on the Stats page.
- Preferences — your theme (light/dark) and tab-disguise choice.
Because this lives in your browser, it's tied to that specific browser and device. Clearing your browser data removes it permanently.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to see aggregate, anonymised usage — things like which games get played, how many visitors we get, rough device type, and approximate region. This helps us decide which games to add and which pages to improve. Google Analytics may set cookies and process data as described in Google's Privacy Policy. We do not collect names, email addresses, or other identifying information.
On game pages we may show a one-tap, optional poll asking what filtering service your school uses. You pick from a fixed list (or close it), nothing you type is collected, and it is recorded as an anonymous count alongside the rest of our analytics. It is shown at most once per browser.
Advertising
Ads keep UBGHyper free. We work to keep them non-intrusive — they sit in banner slots on the page, there are no ads layered over the games themselves, and there are no pop-ups or pop-unders. Our advertising partner:
- Adsterra — the advertising network that fills the banner slots on our pages. Each ad loads in its own frame, and your browser connects to Adsterra's servers, which receive standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the page you're viewing, and may use cookies to measure ads and limit how often you see the same one. See Adsterra's Privacy Policy for how it processes that data.
Pubfuture is also an advertising partner and now fills some banner slots (currently the 300x250 box beside the game player). Unlike Adsterra's frames, its ad code runs directly on the page, and your browser connects to Pubfuture and its ad-tech and measurement providers, including traffic-quality (invalid-traffic) checks and identity-matching services, which may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the page you are viewing, and may use cookies. Its ad technology also runs through Google's Publisher Tag, which loads on our pages, and Pubfuture provides a consent banner where the law requires consent for advertising cookies (for example in the EU and the UK). We have told our advertising partners that many of our players are young, and asked them to keep ads suitable for that audience.
You can limit ad tracking through YourAdChoices or your browser's cookie controls. Blocking advertising cookies doesn't stop the site from working.
Cookies
Cookies on UBGHyper come from our analytics and advertising partners, not from us directly. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site's core features (playing games, favourites, saves) will keep working, since those rely on local storage rather than cookies.
Embedded games
Games are embedded on UBGHyper via iframes that load content from their own hosted directories. When a game loads, your browser connects directly to that host, which may have its own data practices. We don't control third-party game hosts and aren't responsible for their policies.
Children's privacy
UBGHyper is a games site used by players of all ages, including children, and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. We don't ask any visitor — of any age — for names, emails, or other personal details. If you believe a third-party partner has collected such data, contact us and we'll help address it.
Your choices
- Clear your data — clearing your browser's site data for ubghyper.github.io removes all favourites, saves, and stats.
- Block cookies — use your browser settings to block or delete advertising and analytics cookies.
- Opt out of ad personalisation — via the links in the Advertising section above.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves or as our analytics/ad partners change. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
