Angry Birds 2 is Rovio Entertainment's sequel to its slingshot classic. Fling birds at structures built by the pigs, bring the towers down and pop every pig in the level.

The sequel's big change is multi-stage levels: most levels have several rooms in a row, and you carry your birds from one stage to the next, so wasting a bird early can leave you short later. You choose which bird to fire next from a hand of cards, so you can match the right bird to each structure: some split, some speed up, some explode.

Spells add another option, from extra damage to effects that change the whole stage, and boss pigs appear at key points. The physics are what make it work: hitting the weak point of a tower can bring the whole thing down with one shot.

How to play Angry Birds 2

Controls. Click and drag the slingshot back to aim, release to fire. Click again while a bird is flying to use its ability. Choose your next bird from the cards.

Tips:

• Look for the support beams and weak points; a toppled tower does more than a direct hit.
• Save your strongest birds for the later stages of a level.
• Use each bird's ability at the right moment, usually just before impact.
• Spells are best for the final stage, where you might otherwise run out of birds.
